Challenge #11: Red, Green and Gold (with Melanie)

Good morning friends! Have you been keeping up with the posts here at Sundays With Crissy this month? Each very talented member of Crissy's Crew has a designated day to post, so there is inspiration and gorgeous eye candy to be seen throughout the entire month! This month, Crissy has set a wonderful festive colour challenge of "Red, Green and Gold".

I chose to work with one of Crissy's newest digital images from Whimsy Stamps...this is "Little Christmas Angel". I always adore Crissy's illustrations of children...they are so precious! After measuring the Spellbinders Labels 8 die that I planned to use, I resized "Little Christmas Angel" to fit, printed her off on Neenah Smooth cardstock and coloured her with Copic markers. I chose some design paper from My Mind's Eye and used accents of red and gold for the matting and punched border. To pull in some green to fit with Crissy's colour challenge, I sponged around the image and sentiment (from CC Designs) with Bundled Sage Distress Ink. The little flourish in the sentiment is something I drew in myself...mostly to fill the huge gap left when I misjudged the placement of the word "Christmas", lol. I added in some gold flourishes that were made with Spellbinders Doodleparts. The snowflakes were also made with Spellbinders.

In hindsight, I wish I would have coloured her gown with ivory or cream shades just to provide more contrast between the clothing and the wings. I coated both with Stardust Stickles after colouring.

Copics: Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20 Hair: E50, E30, E31, E33, E37, E59 Bird: R22, R27, R46, R59, C10 Gown: B60, C5, C3, C1, C00, blender Wings: B000, BG0000, BG000, B60, blender

We would love to have you join in our challenge this month...you have until midnight on November 30th (EST) to submit your project on Crissy's post HERE. (Just look for the little blue Inlinkz frog at the bottom of her post) If you use one of Crissy's digital images on your project, you will be eligible to win this month's fantastic prize from our wonderful sponsor LSL Diversified. Take a look:

Hello and a very happy Friday to you!    It's my turn to share my Red, Green & Gold challenge card with you.   I've used this ADORABLE Little Christmas Angel by Crissy for Whimsy Stamps.  She's brand new this month and I just love her.

I also love the little bird she is holding ~ I've colored him to look somewhat like a baby cardinal to coordinate with  our theme.  The angel wings and red card stock were embossed in my Textile Texture Cuttlebug embossing folder and I then added a small amount of gold glitter to the bottom of the angel wings.

l hope you will join us for this challenge. We've got an awesome prize this month (pictured below) brought to us by our wonderful sponsor ~ LSL Diversified.   All the details can be found on Crissy's original post HERE.   The deadline is November 30th.

Thank you for stopping in today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Red, Green and Gold with Little Christmas Angel

Happy Hump Day!  It's already the middle of the week and where does the time go?!

Here's my creation for this month's RedGreen and Gold challenge at Sundays with Chrissy.  I've used Chrissy's adorable NEW Little Christmas Angel digi image, available at Whimsy Stamps.  I used another of Bo Bunny's DP Cut Outs from their Tis the Season Collection and added flowers I stickled around with Crystal, green pearls, red crinkled ribbon I recycled from chocolate packaging and added a gold bell.  The gold snowflake brads added to the centre of the flowers, I've had forever in my stash.  I made the small angel charm and hung it with gold chain link from the light green brad on the red bow.   Image was coloured with Copics and I see that the pic did not clearly capture my light colouring of her dress with blue and gray.
This month LSL Diversified is sponsoring with another generous prize they donated to give to one lucky challenge participant:

LSL Diversified is a wonderful Canadian paper crafting store.  I don't think you'll find lower prices on all our favourite crafting supplies anywhere else in Canada.  They also have really low shipping rates and super fast service!

Chrissy will add to this package of stamping related accessories from LSLD, and throw in three of her digital images of the winner's choice from either Whimsy Stamps or Squigglefly!
All you need to do to be eligible for the draw is to use one of her digital images on your creation.  If you are just playing in the challenge, you may use any image you wish from anywhere.  This is just a rule for the candy draw.

And now, it's your turn!  The challenge runs all month until November 30th at midnight.  Please enter a link HERE to your challenge card only and not the whole blog so we can find your entry.

Hugs,
Maria

Say a Prayer - Red, Green & Gold

Hi Everyone! Zoe here today to share my creation this month with you.

It's time to bring out those traditional Chrissie colours of Red, Green & Gold and come play with us!

This month I chose to play with the stunningly gorgeous 'Say a Prayer' from Wags & Whiskers.

Now I am not sure what happens to me every time I am about to make a card for Crissy's challenge but I seem to attempt to pull out all my colouring skills and often spend hours. But now I am writing this, it may have something to do with the fact that Crissy herself just 'Drops my Jaw' each and every time I see her colouring PLUS the rest of the ladies on my team are incredible at colouring so maybe I don't want to embarrass myself. LOL

So without further ado... My card for this month. :)

Here's the close up of 'Say a Prayer'

For more details on my card visit my blog.

Crissy has also just released FOUR new digi stamps at Whimsy this month with Christmas in mind. They are toooo cute! And, here's a big hint for you: the week of Nov 8 thru 14, all the digi's at Whimsy are on sale 50% off!!

I used the new Classic Santa at Whimsy as my image for this challenge, I cut the image and scalloped circle out with my Nesties, I first chalked the background with pan pastels in yellow as I wanted there to be a sort of "sunrise" effect, but then added some Tattered Angels glimmer mist in sunshine to give a more muted golden effect. I colored my santa with copic markers and added a gold metallic card stock in a border punch! I colored santa on Neenah Cardstock, Bazzill cardstock was used, I punched a sentiment from my computer with SU oval punch and then used SU scalloped oval punch to mat. The rest of the details on my card are at my blog here !
I hope each and everyone of you have a wonderful day
Blessings
Michele
