Challenge #20 - K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stamper - Jane's Turn

Hi! I'm Jane, a stay at home Mum to my two gorgeous little ones. I have always been creative and started cardmaking and stamping in February 2009 as something to do when my husband works night shifts! Little did I know how addicted I would become and I have made so many wonderful friends worldwide through my blog! I love to colour and create and find myself making something most evenings. I was so thrilled when Crissy asked if I would like to join the team and work with her gorgeous images! I didn't think twice about saying yes!!

**********

Our challenge this month is, of course, K.I.S.S - Keep it simple stamper!! - Phew! if you visit my blog you will know that this was a huge challenge for me!!! I can't resist adding more and more and then some more to my cards! I love butterflies and so Crissy's gorgeous Rose Butterfly was the perfect choice for me for this month's card.

Here's my take on the challenge -I printed the image directly onto kraft cardstock and coloured it with Prismacolor pencils. I also printed the image a second time so that I could cut out the top wings for a bit of dimension. I had intended to just have the sentiment and gem swirl but it was just too simple for me LOL!! I added the faux stitching with a fine black marker and the full lines with white pencil. The lacey border along the bottom was punched with a Martha Stewart punch. For more details please see my blog, Jane's Lovely Cards.

Now it's your turn to show us your K.I.S.S. cards!! There will be five free digi's given to one lucky challenge participant who will be chosen by Random.org at the end of the month! You may now use images from any company and still be included in the draw for the blog candy prize! Those who use one of Crissy's images, either from her rubber or digital collections will be entered twice in the draw. But please respect the rule of no more than three entries per month. Otherwise your entries could be deleted.

The challenge runs throughout August, so you still have a few days left to create your card, and you can find uploading instructions and the inlinkz option on Sarah's post HERE.

I hope you like my Keep it Simple card and thanks for looking! x

Challenge #20 -- K.I.S.S.-- Keep it Simple Stamper-- Shari's Turn

Hi, my name is Shari and I am so thrilled and honored to be a new member of the Sundays with Crissy Design Team.  I am mom to two adults and 3 fur babies, and have been a crafter forever.  I started with rug hooking, crocheting, faux painting, and then ran my own tole painting business for years ( even cut my own pieces of wood ).  Scrapbooking entered the picture about 14 years ago when I moved to Calgary.  When Copics first came out I resisted - who needed another addiction LOL!!! - that lasted for a whole two months, and then I took a basic class and the rest as they say is history!!   I became a Copic Certified Designer in April 2010 and LOVE everything about Copics, including experimenting with all kind of techniques, and passing my passion and knowledge on to fellow Copic lovers!!!   I also enjoy the technique of painting with distress inks to color images, so every once in a while I will switch things up - keeps everyone guessing!

Our challenge for this month is K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple Stamper.

For my first card as a member of Crissy's Crew I have painted the gorgeous "Ophelia" by Crissy with Distress Inks.  For more information on my card please visit my blog here, I am looking forward to meeting you!

Now it's your turn to give us a K.I.S.S.!! Show us your simple cards!! See upload instructions below!! You may now use images from any company and still be included in the draw for the blog candy prize! Challenge # 20 - K.I.S.S. - Dana's Turn

Hi all!! I am Dana.  So what can I tell you about myself? I've been married for 27 years, we have 3 adult children and one grandson. We live in a rural town outside of St Louis, MO, USA.  I've been crafting and coloring in one form or another for most of my life. I was the kid you could give the crayons and coloring book to and I could literally sit and color for hours. Whelp, not much has changed in the following years.. lol! Now my "crayons" cost a little bit more but I still have a deep passion for getting color onto paper.
I am thrilled to be a part of Crissy's Crew and hope I can do justice to her amazing artwork!
So without further ado, here's my card for this month's challenge KISS (Keep it Simple Stamper)

That is the adorable Mudzie Plays Scarecrow  available at Squigglefly.  I don't know what it is about Mudzie that just cracks me up but it is my SIL's love for all things moose that sent me on my quest for cute moose images last year.  I still have not seen any moose images cuter than him! You can see all the details on my blog.

Now it's your turn to show us your K.I.S.S. cards!! See upload instructions below!!
There will be five free digi's given to one lucky challenge participant who will be chosen by Random.org at the end of the month! Challenge #20--K.I.S.S.--Keep It Simple Stamper--Shannah's Turn

Hi! I'm Shannah and I live in the beautiful Hills region of South Australia. My wonderful hubby is a Police Officer, and we have one cat (i.e. demanding fur-baby!). I love traveling, photography, talking and reading, and am happy as long as I'm learning something!
I took up card-making about 3 years ago, and the very first stamps I fell in love with were Crissy's High Hopes cuties! So you can imagine how excited, nervous, and completely honored I am to be a member of Crissy's Crew! :)

So today I'm here to share my very first card as a Crissy Crew member - talk about a dream come true!

Our challenge for the month of August is K.I.S.S. -- Keep It Simple Stamper.
Tricky, right? I had to slap my own fingers to stop myself adding all the yumminess that we card-makers love! (Though I did sneak in just a tiny bit of bling and flowers.... Because after all this IS my very first card for Crissy - and it couldn't be nekkid!)

I also decided to take 'K.I.S.S.' literally, and used Crissy's absolutely adorable digital image "Nose to Nose", from Whimsy Stamps.  This gorgeous little girl giving an 'Eskimo Kiss' to her puppy looks so much like my beautiful niece Ava that I totally fell in love with her!

Hop on over to My Blog - Embellished ExpresShan's - for more details about my card - I'd love to meet you!

Hope you all have a fabulous week!

CHALLENGE #20 - SHARON'S TURN

Hi Everyone
Firstly I would like to say I am so pleased and excited to be asked to join Crissy Armstrong and her fabulous design team at "Sunday's with Crissy".
Here's a little about me.
My Photo
My name is Sharon and I am from the UK.
Like so many crafters I have always enjoyed creative pursues. From my first memory I can remember colouring paper stencils, always having arty things for Christmas, loving copying drawings and colouring (did really well at School in Geography - the teacher loved my maps etc).
My Nan was very creative being born at the turn of the previous century it was a necessary to be able to sew, knit etc. She taught me how to crochet - I can remember thinking at the time this was so modern and my Nan was so trendy!

I taught myself Knitting, my Mum could also sew - so learnt alot from her, even took a couple of City and Guilds in Dressmaking and Soft Furnishings.

Over the years I have dabbled with many things including Jewellery making, Calligraphy, Painting and Drawing, Beauty, Massage, Literature, Home Decor, Piano - and even had a go at guitar to help my son when he first started guitar lessons. The list goes on and on.
It was only after several years of not working due to health that I managed to take up crafting - this was mainly due to the fact that I thought it would be an easier alternative to doing a HND in fine art which I wasn't well enough to do.
I haven't looked back since taking this up - it has helped me immensely - although I do get very tired so it probably takes me a lot longer than most to complete a project. That being said I have loved so many elements of crafting my favourite as the moment is colouring with alcohol markers. Every day I look forward to developing my skills and learning new techniques.

Now the bit you have been waiting for - this month's challenge is KISS - "Keep it Simple Stamper". I have used three of Chrissy's digi stamps for this project and merged them using Paint Net.

Digi's: LOVE ME ANYWAY/ available from Whimsy Designs.
FORGIVEN AND SENTIMENT: "Looks like one of those days" both available from Squigglefly.

For details of how this card was created check out my blog here.

Challenge #20--K.I.S.S.--Keep It Simple Stamper-- Carole's Turn

Hi, my name is Carole and I live in the UK. I’ve been crafting for about 5 years but since I discovered Copic markers I really haven’t looked back. Digi stamps are my latest favourite thing and I enjoy the challenge of having a new image to play with. I love being part of the crafting community, it really seems to bring out the best in us all, and I’m excited and very honoured to be a part of Crissy’s team.

-----

I'm very pleased to be one of the new members of the Design Team here at Sundays With Crissy and to join in with this challenge theme of K.I.S.S. which stands for Keep It Simple Stamper. An interesting challenge for those of us who tend to get very flowery and fussy with our cards!

So this is what I came up with......the lovely image is one of Crissy's called Dance of Love, and I kept the design simple by using only one backing paper, a couple of nestie circles to frame the image, and minimal embellishments - just a couple of ribbons and chipboard corners with a little gem on each. Because the design is very simple, I used bright colours for the image and reflected these colours in the choice of paper and embellishments. I hope you like it, and you can find more details about the card on my blog which you can see here.

The challenge runs throughout August, and you can find uploading instructions and the inlinkz option on Sarah's post HERE.
Thanks for looking, and happy crafting!
Carole
